Welcome to the Sydney Blues Society
 

The Sydney Blues Society  was formed in 1992 by three Blues Enthusiast with the simple aim and objective of enjoying Blues music through organised regular Jams.

This now incorporated, non-profit, voluntary organisation runs as the Sydney Blues Society to raise the profile of Rhythm & Blues music through various activities, including

• Regular (free) monthly Blues Jam Sessions
  • Develop and promote Blues music artistry and experience,
  • Raffles, and CD Giveaways,
  • Merchandise with the distinctive Sydney Blues Society logo
• Harbour Blues Cruises about 3 times each year
  • Top social outing with the best music provided by local bands.
• Developing Rhythm & Blues Music expertise and competence
  • Provide instrument, equipment, and music management workshops,
  • Bandstand performance for up-and-coming new bands,
  • Blues Performer of the Year Award.
• Publishing a monthly Newsletter "The Blues Times"
  • CD / DVD Reviews of mainly Australian Blues Music Artists,
  • Promotion and Review of Sydney Blues Venues,
  • Gig Guide including Sydney, NSW, and ACT (Around the Traps),
  • Festival Schedules and Reviews.
• Raising the profile of Rhythm & Blues music
  • Support of Artists, Festivals, and Venues playing Blues music through  advertising,
  • Collaboration with other Blues Music Organisations to foster, develop and promote Blues Music and Musicians in Australia and Overseas.
• Facilitating member discounts at supporting musical stores across Sydney.
• Providing updated information through this Website and through our Newsletter

You are invited to become a member of the Sydney Blues Society for only A$30.00 per year for a Single Membership, or A$40.00 for a Family or Band Membership (inside Australia). For people living  outside of Australia, we are charging A$45.00 per year for Single, or A$55.00 for a Family Membership.

A membership application or renewal form is included on this Website as separate pages under "Become A Member" and "Renew Membership".  Print it out, fill it in, and post it with either your Bank/Visa/Master Card details, a personal cheque, or a money order.  We shall respond with your membership card, and send you 12 issues of our monthly newsletter.
